I enjoyed the book overall, but there were a few things that kept bothering me. For one, is this author British? Because the way the characters talk, is very British-like, with the 'have a shower' take the 'lift' and many other examples i don't feel like picking out. Not a big deal, but I wasn't buying that these people are American.

Also, some things just felt forced and weird. Like Daniel's mom was creeping me out. And Daniel's actions a lot of times didn't match his personality. The chemistry went in and out IMO.

Finally, for a romance novel, I feel like the author is afraid of writing sex scenes. They are all so vague and abstract that sometimes I wasn't even sure what was happening. Some of the descriptions are just so ridiculous and cheesy. Not really my style of sex scenes but thats just me.

I'm glad I only paid $.99. Enjoyed, but not sure if I will buy book 2 or not.

I liked when the hero and heroine met, but after that, it went downhill for me.

This did not work for me. The first time the heroine and hero had sex did not feel real. It felt more like two horny people who were hooking up just to hook up. Both have a lot of history with one night stands. The hero pays for expensive escorts. The heroine does not do relationships, but used to do one night stands. Haley says in the beginning of the book that she was going to change that part of her life, but what does she do when they go out on a "date" ??? Yes, she has sex with the hero. Also, in the first chapter, the heroine gets drunk on a bet with her annoying BFF and gets in a taxi with a stranger with the intent to have sex with him until she sobers up and changes her mind.

The hero plays the whole "I don't kiss anyone unless I mean it" game. I usually love when the hero has this mindset, but it felt manufactured in this book.

I did not connect with the main characters. I could not stand the secondary either. I wanted to like this one, but every time I thought the characters' behaviors would change for the better, they would do something that annoyed me. I really don't think what they felt for each other was love, but lust. There is a lot of sex between these throughout the entire book. There is some drama in the book, but I understood why the hero was pissed. The heroine was a big mouth. She and her BFF were both annoying. I felt no compassion for these immature idiots.

Reading is subjective. You may like it.

Typos aside, there was some great writing here. The character build is fantastic with each major character having clearly defined personalities. I love it when an author makes each individual unique, including secondary characters. This book lacked the knitty-gritty details that I look for related to kinky time, but still a nice, wholesome('ish) read. ) I'm actually going with more of a 3.5 stars rather than 3. I know, it could just as easily be a 4, but it's all about personal preference. Throw in a cliffhanger and- ho hum- you get a 3.5

For those of you who prefer a little less kinky, spanky, sticky time- this is a great read for you! We get plenty of hints to the shenanigans that Haley and Daniel get into. I'm just really stingy and want more.

I LOVE Hayley's friends. I want to hangout with them. I want to do shots and test Ian's hetero limits. Just saying. And I love how these characters interact and play with each other. ) "'If nothing else will help I'll convert for you, okay, gorgeous?' He strokes my hair warmly. 'Convert for me? My prince in shining couture?' I blink at Ian's grin. 'All the way for you. We'll even have eight drop-dead gorgeous kids.' I snort and giggle. 'You'll convert and we'll both turn Amish?'"
Loved loved loved. I really loved this book but once again left frustrated with the bloody cliffhanger. What is it with me and purchasing books with cliffhanger ending?? Now I have to wait for the second book. Does anyone know the release date of stark #2?
I really loved the characters of Hales and Daniel. But what I also liked were the other characters Ian and Tash. Hilarious and made me want to have friends like that. I thought there were some funny bits, I loved the come back lines that all characters had. The way Hales and Daniel met I thought was funny, Hales has this no non-sense persona. I can't wait to read book 2...... Hurry!!!
