I got this book for review before I knew it was the 3rd book in a trilogy......or maybe there's another book coming since a lot was still left undone. I still managed to get the general gist of who Tell Morrath was, but I'd really need to read the first two books to fully appreciate who she is and what is going on and why. I can see how teens and young adults could identify with Jarra. She's a "Handicapped", being unable to travel outside of earth due to her immune system. She has a lot of negativity from others to deal with because of her handicap, but she still manages to do some outstanding accomplishments which make this book fun and interesting to read.

Totally unexpected. I haven't enjoyed a book so much in years. Had to go looking for all of her other work. (Which was also great)

Only problem is not that many books out.
The Earth Girl trilogy is warm, funny, and has a strong female character. It is set in the far future where civilians and the military have a close relationship, which is most endearing to a veteran like me.
It's being a loooong time since I've read a trilogy this good !!!
every single book in this serie is is amazing it just keeps getting better and of course this last one was perfect and I mean couldn't put it down perfect.
The settings are incredible and very well thought, the character developement is great you really get to know how Jarra matures through the 3 books and ends being a very good and simply great human being, handicapped or not.
One of the things I like most about this trilogy is the way the writter portaits the personalities of the characters, they're fault and have isues like everybody else but this is great because they acted in a very human and natural way and THAT its what makes this story very special. You don't have nieither the super powerfull, self confident heroin nor the alpha dominating "I know how to save you" heroe they are simply people like you or me but in a plot very well thought and on really spectacular situations.
All in all Eath flight is an espectacular conclusion for an amazing trilogy.
If you have got this far, plunk down the $9.99 to continue. The draw is not so much the plot (which is ok) but that reading Edwards is at times like being in virtual reality. The emotions seem to be happening to the reader. After a while, this seems like the real world, not that other place I have to go back to when it is the last page.
If you are about to finish the series, you will not be disappointed. If you are browsing, go back and purchase the first in series. Rarely do we get to read a book that combines world building, action, great dialog and likable, even lovable, people. This is one of those books.
Wonderful young adult (although I'm an old adult!) science fiction story with strong female character as the primary. LOTS of fun, excitement and adventure in this series (Earth Girl Series by Janet Edwards) ....HIGHLY recommended by librarians and myself! I actually went back and re-read the series because I enjoyed it so much! (very unusual for me)
This book was the perfect ending to the trilogy. I couldn't put it down and read it in one sitting. This entire series was fantastic and not just for teens. I'm in my 50's and these books remind me why I started reading and loving science fiction way back when. It does address some serious issues but still leaves you feeling upbeat. I ordered the UK version because I enjoyed the series so much I couldn't wait until the US Edition to be published. I'm also hoping that this won't be the last we read of these characters. Even though this did end it left me hopeful there could be more. I've signed up for the newsletter on Janet Edwards site so I'll know when she writes another book of any kind. The author has written short stories about different characters and posted them on her site for her fans. I'd recommend them too. If you haven't read Earth Girl you must start there.
its always sad when a loved series comes to an end But still holding out for more in this wonderfully colorful world. The short stories have given us more insight to some of these characters & will continue for a while to come. These books have a great feel good affect on the reader & i love how its set all over the earth not just in one country. we travel from africa to europe to the usa & its fantastic. Theres such a great variety of colorful characters handicapped in a different way, all ethnic persuasions as well as sexual orientations. Jarra & her continuing adventures won't disappoint anyone who loved the first 2 books. I started panicking when i got to chapter 38 & realized this was coming to an end. Loved loved this story & the fantastic mental imagery that came with it. From the first dig site in book one & impact suits , to portaging & alien spheres this story will stay with me for many years to come. Still holding out for more adventures from fortuna lol hint hint hint this is a MUST read & won't disappoint those who love this series
